Mill Valley

Mill Valley

Named for an old sawmill from the 1800s, Mill Valley is a beautiful mountain town with a charming downtown and a thriving arts scene. Located just along the old growth forests of Muir Woods National Park, Mill Valley is an outdoorsy wonderland, with hiking and biking trails as far as the eye can see (farther!). It is home to the challenging Dipsea race where runners of all ages run from Mill Valley to the coastline, up and over Mt. Tamalpais - and is considered to be one of the most beautiful courses in the world. The downtown promenade includes spots such as the historic Sweetwater Music Hall, The Throckmorton Theater, Playa Mexican Restaurant, various boutiques, and much more. Other notable attractions for Mill Valley residents include its close proximity to Stinson Beach, Point Reyes, Sausalito, as well as the city of San Francisco.

Donna’s Mill Valley Picks:

A wonderful way to spend the day is by walking or running the Dipsea Trail, celebrated with a restaurant meal or picnic in Stinson Beach.
