With a population of less than 700, Stinson Beach lives up to its small town promise of quiet, calm, and relaxing. Situated on the beautiful California coast just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, Stinson beach is a popular summertime destination for Bay Area residents, but remains quiet late fall-early summer. Live Water Surf Shop, home of the infamous “no shark” logo, is one of the oldest surf shops in Northern California and is open year round to help surfers of all levels enjoy the waves at Stinson. Within eyesight of Live Water lies most of Stinson’s town locales: local-favorite Parkside café and patio, a walk-up burger and shake beach shack, a small market, a coffee stand, a book store, and a variety of small boutiques. The Stinson Beach library is just a short walk down the road from the main town and offers a monthly book club and an exhibit room featuring a rotating display of local exhibits and artists.
